Mohsen Soleimani, who is attending the Restu Global Quranic Arts Festival in Malaysia, made the remark in an interview with IQNA, adding that the world needs dialogue today and arts can be used as a means to convey thoughts.

He said such festivals and cultural events can play a role in promoting dialogue and helping nations develop a better understanding of one another.

It is necessary to create such atmospheres for dialogue which would help reduce and prevent tensions and disputes, he stated.

He noted that different countries have taken part in the festival and he has put on show some of his classic Islamic artworks as well as some of his modern works.

The artist further hailed the good reception of the festival and said the visitors from different age groups associate well with artworks on show at the event

Soleimani, who creates works in Thulth and Iranian Kufic scripts as well as calligraphy painting started his activities in these arts in 1983 and has partaken in many exhibitions in Iran and abroad, including in Spain, the Netherlands, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Indonesia, Turkmenistan, Algeria, Iraq, Turkey and Kuwait.

He has also taught arts in different universities in Iran over the years.

His works have been used in religious sites and holy shrines in Iran and Iraq, including in the holy cities of Mashhad, Karbala, Najaf, Samarra, Kadhimiya, and Samarra.

The arts festival has been organized in Putrajaya by Restu Foundation and foreign partners including the Iranian Cultural Center in Malaysia.

It kicked off on January 20, 2023, and will run for ten days. Four countries, including the Islamic Republic of Iran, are participating in the festival.

The event allows visitors to witness special exhibitions, and interact with the Quran and Islamic arts and Islamic products entrepreneurs while also trying to improve the image of Islam as an inclusive and peaceful religion.

Introducing the preservation and prosperity of the Quran, glorifying the teachings of Islam, inviting the community to love knowledge and scholars, utilizing modern technology as an effective preaching medium, and trying to return the Muslim community to their true identity have been named among other objectives of the event.
